LORQ:TECH #44: ~Arm Circle Throws~

Illusional throws using an arm circle between throw and catch (Keith-y Throws remixed), plus a horizontal throw in the middle of a plane-bendy antibend pattern.

Curt Carlyle wants to call them “Faith Throws.” What do you think?

LORQ:TECH #43: ~Paid To Practice (POI)~

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1wmyEjfEQA&w=560&h=315]

Tosses, Contact, and Tether Manipulations

In Oregon you can’t pump your own gasoline! I get to! It’s my job! Inbetween cars I’m permitted to dance and juggle. I play my music and worship the speakers. I get paid to practice and I pay rent. Poi… Dance… Juggle… Practice… at work. The job isn’t always pleasant. There are quite rude people in the world (turns out I’m a person). So there you have it. Practicing and committing to pumping the positive out to the people, one fill-up and dance at a time.

LORQ:TECH #42: ~Tether Contact Rolls (One-Poi-Two-Hands)~

Only having one long poi sure has encouraged me to practice all those string tricks I’ve been loving…

GUNSLINGER FLOWERS

Hybrids and non-hybrids in the continued exploration of tether manipulations and flowers…

Music: Lorde- “Still Sane”

** I use the ‘gunslinger wrist wrap’ I’ve been posting for a bout a year. It’s like jonathan’s gunslinger stuff, but it doesn’t reverse direction (maintains direction) and it uses a slide to get to the middle of the poi instead of his ‘over the back of the hand’ manip….

Enjoy!

LORQ:FLOW #9: ~Glow Trails Flow Jam~

After my last video Luke Carroll requested some trails-y footage of a flow jam.  So I did.

Lots of sweet patterns, all with ‘trails’ or ‘tracers’

LORQ:TECH #41 ~9 Flower Families! (with Trails)~

One hybrid is used to show 9 different planar relationships of the poi to the hands (With Glow Trails! Check it out!)

My favorites (in order) are @2:03, 1:25… okay the toroid at 0:50 looks sweet with the trails too.

LORQ:TECH #40 ~TOROID HYBRIDS: ANTIBEND VS. ISOBEND~

Toroid Hybrids.  Bending one poi while antibending the other yields neat-o visuals and feels.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

LORQ:TECH #39: ~SAMURAI FLOW and STRING MANIPS~

Toroidal antibend fountain (1:55)
Gunslinger to propellor to gunslinger (2:30)
Throws to poi-head SLAP and tether winding/unwinding around hand. (1:11+)
+Throws, Flows, and 3D

Samurai Flow: Wrapping and unwrapping the poi tether around the hand and wrist for an extra visual layer and awesome feeling. Twisting the body one segment at a time (often slowly) to move the poi (or move out of the way of the poi)

LORQ:TECH #38: ~SILLY TOROIDS~

Flowing with Toroids, I didn’t know I was making funny faces:

LORQ:TECH #37: ~BOX TRANSITIONS~

Box Antispin is used to transition:
from Quarter-Opp to Tog-Same and Split-Same
from Quarter-Same to Split-Opp and Tog-Opp

Also shown are:
Box Antispin vs. Extension.
